I bought it for my mom. She loves it. It is very easy to use. And the image quality is super. My mom and her friends used several cameras to take pictures for same scenes. It turned out this camera got the best pictures. My mom was very proud of it.

Great quality in a small package. Nikon has proven once again that you don't have to pay a lot for a great product. This camera has a simple menu structure, intuitive functionality, and takes great pictures. For any non-technical person who is just looking for a simple camera that takes excellent pictures, this is the one. It is simple enough to use without any instructions, but the PDF user manual that comes with the camera is very helpful in getting the most out of this camera. Cost is not the highest item on my priority list, but it is worth mentioning that this camera cost the least of all comparable competitors.

I got this camera because of the price, and I guess you get what you pay for. As another reviewer mentioned, it has a long delay to take the picture after pressing the shutter button. Very annoying. And after using this camera for a long vacation weekend, I noticed that 90% of my pictures are out of focus, which is a huge bummer. I blame it on the long delay.
I'm going to get another camera and not use this one. I'd return it if I could.

This is a nice camera to have as a point-and-shoot. The AA bateries instead of charger can have its pros and cons.. the major advantages (to me) are:
1. No need for a charger. One less thing to worry about and keep track of.
2. If the battery goes empty in the middle of the day, AA batteries are available everywhere (or you can take a spare couple).
If you want to save on batteries, you can always get rechargeable ones.
The main dislike about this camera is that sometimes it takes a (really) long time to take the shot. Not sure why as I also have one other similar model (Nikon Coolpix S220) and it doesn't take half as long. This causes quite a bit of frustration and in my opinion, Nikon gets its brand detiriorated more than it saves money.
Still, a nice camera, especially for people who don't know much about which settings to use and just want to use the one button to take shots.

My Coolpix L22 goes everywhere with me. It's small enough to fit in a pocket,and with 12Mp I can crop and enlarge more of the photos.
I love the size and for some reason more of my photos are really sharp.
