By far the worst camera I have ever purchased August 24, 2010 CHARLES BAKER 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This Camera is the only camera I have owned that freezes ( Literally will not turn off move or anything) you have to take the battey out and put it back in to turn it off. Horrible focus on the camera would not recommend to anyone. Some cool in theory features but if the camera freezes and cant focus whats the point? Pass on this one ladies and gents.
Pretty good camera August 22, 2010 Dawn Carella 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Camera ok. Took pictures and/or video and would freeze so I would have to take battery out and put right back in. That would fix problem and it would be ok. Picture quality is ok too.
Everyone say "Freeze"!! August 13, 2010 Jenny (Alexandria, VA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I only owned this camera for two days when it froze up on me TWICE! When it freezes up you can't turn it off or anything, you have to take the battery out to get it working again. Also the Easyshare feature is lame as you still have to hook the camera up to a computer for your picture to be loaded, so what's the point?!?!
Also purchased a NEW Kodak SD card,(the same one pictured on the box!), that wouldn't work with the camera!?!? It kept giving me an error message say it was incompatible, did I mention that it was the same exact one that was on the cover of the box? Anyway, I got frustrated and put the card in my mother's camera to see if it would work in her camera and I got this nice little message that said: "Card needs formatting", I clicked "ok", then her camera formatted the SD card!! When I transferred the card into this camera it now worked, so why the hell didn't it just format the f$*ing card instead of telling me it was incompatible!?!? Piece of crap, you're going back!!
Buttons too small. Good features, but returned. August 13, 2010 joyceomaha 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Purchased from [...] but later returned the camera. Too compact for me. Buttons on top difficult to use. Later purchased the Kodak Z950 (from Amazon.com,) which I had been considering for nearly a year, but when the M580 came out, I decided to try it. Should have purchased the Z950 a long time ago. Only thing I don't like about the Z950, is the low volume for video playback and no adjustment for it.
Broken out of box July 22, 2010 Jerrod Prevost (Trumansburg, NY USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I got this camera after having a Canon for a couple years. The Canon was good but kept complaining that the batteries were dead even if brand new. I also wanted something with more MP and a faster. Anyway, I charged up the Kodak and used it once. The next time I tried it the lens would come out half way and it would tell me something like "Please remove the lens cap"! Of course it has no lens cap which I thought was amusing if not annoying. I let it sit for a day and then tried it again and it seemed fine. Then it did the lens thing again and was stuck in the out position. It also would not even power on anymore. So, I returned it for a refund. Very unimpressed.
