amazing camera! August 27, 2010 Andrea Amazing camera, Amazing pictures!
The pictures on the camera itself looked pretty descent. But once I uploaded them to my computer the quality was amazing. I think its just the screen on the camera isn't that great.
I took this camera to the beach and in the middle of pushing the button to take the picture a wave knocked me over. The picture still came out perfect!
I am super pleased I bought this camera, it has lots of functions and extras for you to mess around with if you want.
Good family camera August 25, 2010 Charlotte Mom 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
So far we have used this camera for tubing down a river and snorkeling on Grand Cayman and it has been great. The kids can grab it and take pictures and we don't have to worry if they drop it, and they have. It has been in the water a lot and has shown no leakage. It does help your picture quality if you learn the settings. The automatic setting does not do as well. We also have gotten some good video in and out of the water.
This has been a great family camera for us.
Great camera for busy families August 24, 2010 nfo1203 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We bought this camera because we're a very active family. We spend most of our time outdoors and on occassion leave things within reach of our smaller, more destructive, children. It's not uncommon to find our house phone in the backyard, covered in dew, or hear the tv remote bouce off a wall because someone thought it could fly...life with four kids from ages 3 to 7 is busy and unpredictable. What better camera to have than one that is shock, water and crush proof?! We're still getting used to all the fun features but by far the best is the HD video. Recording video was never as easy as it is with this camera. There's a designated record button so that you never mistakenly record video when you wanted to take a photo or visa versa. We haven't tested all the proofs just yet but time will tell. So far, so good.
Love this Camera August 5, 2010 Carolyn Well, I am not a professional, but this camera is awesome. I love the video and picture features. I haven't used it underwater yet, but can't wait to video my kids swimming. It's so compact and is super easy to operate. I am so excited about this camera. I want to use it everyday. The video is awesome. I wasn't expecting this camera to zoom like my DSLR camera. It does great for having so much in one little camera. So far our pictures have been good too. We actually feel comfortable letting our 3 and 5 year olds take pictures. They both have taken great pictures of us. What does that tell you about it being easy!!! By the look and feel of the camera, you might not think it as durable as it is. But I can't be happier with this purchase!
Could be better July 26, 2010 Ryan Snow (ANchorage, AK) I have to say upon opening the package I had high expectations of this product. As many people have already said the camera tends to be slow in all it's operations. As a regular user of ruggedized products this tends to be the norm. It did seem to be a little slower than I expected though. Taking pictures was a real challenge at first. One definitely has to be in tune with the various menu options to get a good picture. The first few days I started snapping photos I was very unhappy with the quality and graininess of all my images. It took a few days to get use to the controls and having to change the setting for each situation. Which you will have to do for a good picture. The only reason I kept this was for it's water proof abilities. We have a few of these at work for fish work and they work great underwater for close shots. The video also seems to work fairly well. But I spend most of my time in the rain and water so naturally I need my camera to handle that.
Battery life is well average. The main issue if if you have to swap batteries and you're in a wet environment you SOL if you get moisture in the battery/SD Card area.
Documentation with this is a joke. The camera has an attempted built in help library witch seems to irritate more than help. No real paper manual comes with it. You can download it or get it off the internal memory on the camera. It did have about 1.5G free on the internal memory for images, with the rest for the camera OS.
All in all if you're looking to use this as an every day shooter look elsewhere. For someone who needs a camera for there kayak or light duty water sports this may suit your needs.
