Nice solid feeling camera, has many photo options. I have not quite mastered it yet but it has great potential.

5 out of 5 stars Great camera   February 7, 2010

I LOVE this camera, i actually got one stolen and bought another one, the exact same one. i wouldn't trade it for anything. there is a newer model out now though. i bought this one at 215$ last year and bought the exact same one but a newer model in red for my mom for christmas, i got that one off of ebay for $160. but it takes great pictures, Carl Ziess lens are the best you can ask for, the only complaint i have is the zoom. it hardly zooms in at all. other than that i really like it, great quality, great design, everything.

5 out of 5 stars Great Point and Shoot Camera for a GREAT Price   January 31, 2010
Tennille Kinzer (Idaho)
My first digital camera was one I bought in 2005 on Ebay, without any knowledge whatsoever of digital cameras. It was an HP Photosmart with 6MP (which was great at the time) and I loved it. However, as technology progresses so rapidly, my "new" camera was out of date within a year.

I waited and looked for a very long time before selecting the Sony Cybershot. I have always bought other Sony electronics, but was having a difficult time deciding between Nikon, Canon, or Sony for my new camera. I finally picked this camera for several reasons:

- Ease of use
- 12MP (one of the best quality cameras on the market)
- No batteries required
- LOVE the smile-recognition mode, which will only take a picture once a smile is detected.
- Excellent price

The only downsides for the camera that I would have to report are:

- It doesn't take a regular memory card, instead it takes an SD card, which is slightly more expensive.
- Without a converter, it's impossible to get pictures from the SD card off the camera and onto my laptop (unless you own a Sony VAIO laptop, where there will be an SD-compatible slot for the card).
- Sometimes has troubles focusing close up (also may depend on which camera mode is being used).

Overall, it's a great camera for an exceptional price, it is sturdy, and it going to last a long time since it's a Sony.

5 out of 5 stars Sony Cybershot: A pint sized dynamo   December 29, 2009
June E. Porter (Delaware USA)
viewed spectacular panoramic & colorful photos of scenes taken in Dakar,Senegal and Mauritania by a friend during a trip we both took in 2008. The photos looked like they were taken by a professional photographer using a more expensive camera. When I was told the pixs were taken using the Sony Cybershot DSC W 220. I was blown away! I couldn't wait to own one. Its a lightweight portable camera and I also love the choice of camera colors...I purchased the Pink one! I'm crusing to the Bahams soon and can't wait to take photographs of the Caribbean landscape.

4 out of 5 stars Great value camera   December 28, 2009

I bought this camera as a Christmas present for my daughter; she hasn't used it much yet but seems very pleased with it so far. It's a very solid camera for the price--easy to use, large view screen, fairly intuitive interface; I have an older Cybershot model myself and have been very satisfied with the picture quality, so I assume that will be the same for this one.
